The University of Leicester would like to inform prospective students for the coming academic year in September 2020 about the lockdown situation in the city and the university’s efforts to preserve face-to-face education in collaboration with government authorities. We care about the safety of our students and the quality of education provided to them and therefore we are working on innovating during these difficult times in order to maintain the quality of your overall experience as a prospective student at the University of Leicester.

The University of Leicester is working on innovative plans and solutions for new and returning students for this coming September through the following ways:

• Innovative mixed programs which incorporate online and face-to-face study
• Our “live and learn” program for social communities which we will update you on a weekly basis starting from 13 July 2020
• All students will be provided with safety packs and hand sanitizers
• Our campus will be highly regulated in accordance with safety regulations to minimize the risks of COVID-19
• Our Ignite accommodation plan to offer flexibility for students regarding quarantine especially for international students

The University of Leicester is working closely with government authorities in order to ensure the safety of students. The number of infected people amongst staff and students continues to remain low and we are effectively monitoring the people infected to ensure their safety as well as others’.

Groundbreaking Research:
Through a $500,000 grant from the Wolfson Foundation we are developing the construction of a new research center that is dedicated towards the exploration of deep space. The center is to be built at the Space Park Leicester site.

Also, the COVID-19 medical research team of the University of Leicester alongside Leicester’s hospitals were championed as earning the place of the top recruiter of the national recovery trial.
