KCL’s Vice President & Vice-Principal of Education Nicola Philips would like prospective students to stay updated on KCL’s efforts to continue higher education withstanding the ongoing pandemic and its consequent travel issues and social restrictions.
KCL Welcomes You:
We are working to ensure the provision of higher education for everyone regardless of where they might be. As much as we would love to ensure that you be with us in London at KCL’s wonderful campus, we are aware of the travel restrictions and delays in travel visas and therefore we are offering you online programs in order for you to continue your education with delay.
Online and Physical Attendance Combination:
We are seeking to incorporate an excellent and effective mix of in-person and online learning by including small groups in classrooms augmented by an efficient online learning platform. Student access to campuses will be controlled by safety procedures and health guidelines in order to ensure the safety of everyone on campus. The number of staff members as well as students on campus will be regulated constantly including student study spaces, labs and classrooms.
Student Timetables:
During the first semester we will be conducting timetables based on a cohort basis which will help us maximize the time spent for students on campus. Students will receive academic advice on the in-person sessions planned. Pertaining to the days on which students do not have in-person sessions, we ask them to kindly not be present at the campus. We are working always to sustain as many students as possible on campus.
Facilities and Services:
Students will be able to benefit from a wide range of facilities and services both on campus and online. Facilities such as Student’s Union, Libraries, Career Services, Student Spaces and more. Students will be encouraged to engage in the digital equivalent of those facilities and services at first but of course will have the choice to visit them on campus. Visitation will require scheduling appointments in order to control the number of students present physically.
We realize that this pandemic has taken a toll on everyone’s quality of education ultimately as it is different to be present in London and on campus. However, we are working hard to ensure that your experience is still a great one.
